MUGPUSH Female Lead Vocalist Mikki Boyd adds dimension to the band's distinctive sound! Her gospel roots, love of World music, & education culminate in a unique musical style. Raised in the Bay Area her love of music began as a child performing in youth choir's she went on to direct as a teenager. 

A trained vocalist Mikki possesses masterful performance skills. Her music education includes a B.A. in jazz & popular music from San Francisco State University earned under the tutelage of Grammy nominated arranger Phil Matson & Masters of Music Northern Illinois studying with the renowned Ronald Carter.  

Mikki has recorded with Grammy Award Winner Darmon Meader of New York Voices, Bobby McFerrin, Cedric Dent of Grammy winning group Take 6, the sultry "Goes The Clock" produced by TEEKO & MUGPUSH band album "All US...." 2011 & currently recording her solo debut album. 
 
Mikki, was accepted into the Red Bull Music Academy with teachers in residence Dave Matthews, Sir Mix A lot, Oh No, Theo Parrish & Questlove, she is a Musician Corps Fellow at the Center for Music National Service, Vocal Jazz Music Instructor at San Francisco School Of the Arts, Piano-Voice Instructor & Music Minister at Lakeshore Baptist Church.
